Qantas profit leaps 28% to $1.6 billion with travel demand still strong
Qantas has posted one of its biggest profits on the back of surging travel demand and high fares. The airline says it's going to spend some of the money updating its aging fleet and adding more capacity. Qantas has suffered several hits to its reputation including a record fine for illegally outsourcing jobs during the covid pandemic and a massive data breach and the fallout from the 'ghost flights' scandal.
