Love Triangle Turns Bloody in Meerut: Husband Shoots Wife’s Live-in Partner, Issues Open Threat in Viral Video
A sensational daylight murder in Meerut triggered outrage after the accused husband shot dead his wife’s alleged live-in partner in full public view and later released a chilling self-confession video.
Daylight Murder Caught on CCTV:
The incident occurred around 1:45 pm on Wednesday in the Ramraj area under Bahsuma police station limits. Surendra alias Sunil was riding his motorcycle when Pradeep, a resident of Sanota, arrived on another bike with his face covered in cloth.
Pradeep allegedly fired three shots in quick succession. The first bullet hit Surendra from behind, while subsequent shots struck his head and temple, killing him on the spot. CCTV footage (39 seconds) shows the accused arriving, firing, shouting in the market, and fleeing fearlessly.
Police investigations revealed that Surendra was allegedly in a relationship with Pradeep’s wife, who had left her husband about one-and-a-half years ago and was living with Surendra.
Road Blockade by Family:
After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family on Thursday. Angry relatives placed the body on the road and blocked traffic, causing long jams on both sides. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused and security for the family, alleging that he was roaming freely.
Police officials reached the spot and pacified the family. The accused, Pradeep, was later arrested near Kalavada canal in the Falavada police station area. Multiple police teams were involved in the operation.
Viral Confession & Open Threat:
In a separate four-minute video, Pradeep filmed himself while riding a motorcycle, confessing to the murder. He claimed sole responsibility, displayed a pistol tucked in his waistband, and threatened to kill his wife as well.
He alleged harassment over the past one-and-a-half years and accused certain police officials of inaction. He also claimed he would dispose of the weapon in a canal and openly challenged the administration.
Police Action:
Rural SP Abhijeet Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered and further legal action is underway. Forensic teams examined the crime scene, and additional forces were deployed to maintain law and order due to rising tension in the area.
