心に傷を持つ札付きのスケバンである麻宮サキには、サキの父である夫・俊也殺しの罪を着せられた母親ナツがいた。その母の死刑執行の無期延期を条件に、警視庁の暗闇警視は、サキを学生刑事にスカウトする。かくしてサキは学生刑事「スケバン刑事」として、私立探偵の神恭一郎たちと共に学園・学校という警察の入り込みにくい組織に次々と起こる事件に挑む。

Saki Asamiya, a notorious delinquent with emotional scars, had a mother named Natsu who was framed for murdering Saki's father, Toshiyuki. In exchange for indefinitely postponing her mother's execution, the Metropolitan Police Department's undercover inspector recruits Saki as a student detective. Thus, as the student detective “Sukeban Detective,” Saki teams up with private investigator Kyoichiro Kami and others to tackle a series of incidents occurring within the hard-to-penetrate organizations of academies and schools.
