Chilling Murder in Vizag: Navy Technician Kills Girlfriend, Dismembers Body, Surrenders to Police
A gruesome murder case has shocked Visakhapatnam after a naval technician allegedly killed his girlfriend, dismembered her body, and hid the remains inside his rented flat in the Gajuwaka area.
The accused, identified as Chintada Ravindra, a technician posted at INS Dega, was arrested after he surrendered at the Gajuwaka police station and confessed to the crime.
According to police, the victim, Polipalli Mounika (29), had been in a relationship with Ravindra since 2021. On the day of the incident, he allegedly called her to his residence while his wife was away at her parental home.
Investigators said an argument broke out between the two, reportedly over financial disputes and threats to expose their relationship. The confrontation allegedly escalated, during which Ravindra stabbed Mounika to death.
Police revealed that the accused had earlier attempted to procure knives, indicating possible premeditation. After the murder, he allegedly cut the body into multiple parts. Some remains were stored in a refrigerator, while others were packed into a bag and hidden inside the house. The victim’s head was reportedly taken to an isolated location and burned, and is yet to be recovered.
Following the crime, Ravindra contacted a friend and later surrendered to the police, leading to the discovery of the muder. Police teams recovered body parts from the house, while a special team has been formed to trace the missing remains.
Officials said Ravindra’s wife had recently delivered a child and was staying away from the residence, leaving him alone at the time of the incident.
A murder case has been registered, and forensic examination is underway to establish the full sequence of events. The brutal nature of the crime has left residents in shock, with investigators continuing efforts to uncover all details.
