“Arrest Post Hijacked”: Vulgar Trolls Target Woman SP on Mirzapur Police Instagram
A recent Instagram post by Mirzapur Police showcasing a successful arrest has sparked widespread outrage after its comment section was flooded with vulgar and body-shaming remarks directed at Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik.
The post, shared four days ago, detailed the arrest of a ₹25,000 reward-listed accused, identified as a habitual cattle smuggler. According to police, a joint team of Jigna police and SOG surveillance units apprehended the accused and recovered a motorcycle along with ₹40,000 in cash. The update also featured a video statement by SP Kaushik.
Abuse Overshadows Police Work
However, instead of acknowledging the operation, several users posted offensive and inappropriate comments targeting the woman officer’s appearance. The comment section reportedly included explicit language, sexist slurs, and body-shaming remarks.
Public Outrage
Screenshots of the abusive comments have since gone viral, drawing sharp criticism from social media users. Many have condemned the trolling and demanded stricter action against those responsible.
Calls for Accountability
Users have urged authorities to treat such online harassment as a serious offence and ensure accountability. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over rising misogyny and lack of digital civility, even on official law enforcement platforms.
