Greenland: Authorities reject Trump’s hospital ship deployment
Greenland and Denmark rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to deploy a hospital ship to the Arctic island, marking another point of friction after his earlier statements about seizing Greenland. On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social that he would send the ship, alleging that many people in Greenland are sick and not receiving care. Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens‑Frederik Nielsen responded with “A no thank you,” stressing the quality of the territory’s public health system, where treatment is free for all citizens unlike in the United States. Nielsen added that Greenland remains open to dialogue and cooperation.
